Sun, 28 May 2006 A Conversation With My Friend Colleen and My Adventures in Pattern Adjustments Thanks to the holiday weekend, I am having a semi-sewing extravaganza weekend. It was going to just be sewing, sewing, and more sewing, but I had to take more breaks to get other stuff done than I thought I would need to do. In today's podcast, I update you on the projects I'm working on and have a conversation with my friend Colleen about her sewing adventures. Mon, 22 May 2006 Ah, technology. It can make our life easier, or make it more frustrating. Last week I promised to have an interview with my youngest sister about sewing. I had a great conversation with her. Too bad you won't hear it. The software only recorded HER half of the conversation...and again when we tried it again. Ah, well. I did find a snippet of the conversation that I could share with you where she doesn't sound like she is carrying on a conversation with no one else. I also share with you how you can use a burn test to determine fiber content if you are unsure of the fabric. Comments[0] |
Sun, 14 May 2006 I love vintage dress patterns. In this episode, I browse through a box of vintage patterns I inherited from my Great-grandmother Daisy and discover that my Grandmother Lois' patterns would fit me. But, do I really want to wear the same clothes my grandmother wore? Comments[0] |
Sun, 7 May 2006 I finally convinced My Honey to help me create a paper-tape fitting double. Problem was, I couldn't find any paper tape. So we decided to try papier-mache. To see photos of this adventure, go to http://grandmassewingcabinet.blogspot.com Comments[0] |
Sun, 30 April 2006 This is the inaugural episode of my podcast about fashion sewing. I'll talk about what I'm working on, peruse through my vintage stuff, and, perhaps, do an interview or two. The name of this podcast is derived from the fact that I am using the sewing machine cabinet that my grandfather made for my grandmother a long time ago. I do hope you'll enjoy the show!
